Text:  Numbers 12

Creator of blessing, thank you that here in this place we are so filled with the good news, over flowing with the reality of holy community, abounding grace, love beyond words.  Our church is a safe haven for us and we are so grateful for this gift.  We know however, God of challenge, that you do not call us to stay where we are, your way is not the way of comfort or of ease and that
when we are living out our daily lives we must find a way to see the blessings in our midst, even when there are great giants to overcome.  Just as your prophet Moses sent his people to survey the land, we too are sent into the world to observe, to report back to you, to hear your promises, and be faithful, even when life does not look as we expected.

Creator of blessing, thank you for our broken, imperfect, and flawed lives.  It is only when we are broken that we can be made whole.  It is only when we realize our imperfection that we depend on you.  And so as we are renewed in worshipping you, we are equipped to be sent... sent to teach, sent to love, sent to heal, sent to reconcile and sent to see the world with your eyes, no matter what trials stand before us.

Creator of blessing, we know that you see the hurts of the world, the wars and injustice, those who live in poverty and hunger.  We ask you to be especially with those dealing with the aftermath of the volcano in Indonesia and the violence in Venzuela.  We pray for all of those who were injured in accidents from the winter storm this week and we pray for your traveling mercies in uncertain weather.

Creator of blessing, we thank you for new opportunities, for the medalists and the participants at the Olympics, for the birth of a new child, for beginning of a new week.

Direct us, focus us, lead us, so that when we are doing your work in the world, it is your blessing that we see.

We ask and pray all of these things so humbly in the name of our savior who shared a special prayer that we can still proclaim... Our Father...
